Second Reading of Bill C-65

A process to ensure all incidents of harassment and violence in the workplace are properly investigated will be introduced.

Senator Hartling moved for Second Reading of Bill C-65, an Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (Harassment and Violence). During her speech, the Senator spoke about the need for a comprehensive, integrated, approach to dealing with harassment and violence in the workplace. The bill provides a framework in which incidents of harassment are prevented, receive a proper response when they do occur, and in which victims and workplaces receive support.
